A Tourist Experience
Natural in the Amazon
Full Day Isla
de los Monos
Enjoy the rainforest with excursions and admire the beautiful landscapes departing from the port of Nanay. Admire the ever-changing waters as you navigate the Amazon River. We will visit Monkey Island, about 2 hours and 15 minutes from the port of Nanay. We will travel in a traditional boat with an outboard motor. On the island, local guides will offer a 45- to 50-minute tour, introducing you to the different species of monkeys, their characteristics, and much more.

ITINERARY
09:30 In the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the port of Bellavista Nanay. Once the group has gathered, the guide will introduce themselves and explain the variety of Peruvian jungle cuisine, including fish, meat, and regional fruit drinks. We will also visit the Nanay Bridge, considered the largest bridge in Peru.
10:30 AM Then we head to the raft where our traditional boat is located, with the appropriate safety vests and the boat with the regulated capacity, and we will depart for our other experiences.
Our next experience is the confluence of the Nanay and Amazon rivers. Here, the boat stops so the guide can explain the change in the waters and why they don't mix—a marvel of nature that will leave us in awe. This is a good opportunity for questions to arise, and the guide will be ready to answer them. At this confluence, we might spot gray and pink river dolphins, as they can be seen at the junctions of the rivers and branches of the Amazon. The change in the waters marks the beginning of our journey downstream on the majestic Amazon River for the following experiences.
12:00 PM The next program is a visit to Monkey Island, a short excursion to reach the reception and receive instructions from the local guides, we will be there for approximately 2 hours.
02:30 PM Lunch on board.
03:30 PM A visit to the Yagua ethnic group in the Amazon rainforest is planned. This activity is an opportunity to interact with them, as we will participate in their dances. First, they will welcome us. The group's representative, the chief, will speak in their dialect, explaining how they migrated to this part of the jungle. Then he will tell us in Spanish. This activity is a good opportunity to buy handicrafts, as by going there you are buying directly from them at a lower price and also supporting the ethnic group.
03:30 PM Continuing with our experiences, we boarded a boat to head to Don Pedrito Ranch to observe Victoria Regia, the largest aquatic plant in the Amazon, with beautiful landscapes perfect for photos. We also saw the paiche (arapaima) and fed the piranhas and caimans.
04:30 PM Return to Iquitos.
05:30 PM As the FULL DAY AMAZON MONKEY ISLAND program concludes, we return home enjoying the sunset. Transfer to the city center completes the tour.
